The slave caves: room 1.

Seeing the slave caves in person was without a doubt the most emotional portion of our trip. This room is only about 5 feet high from the lower level to the ceiling. The slaves were packed in this very small room by the hundreds! They had to sit, packed like sardines, on the small shelf surrounding the room. The shelf to the ceiling is only about 3 feet high. The lower level is where they had to go to the bathroom. You could see scratches in the concrete wall from the slaves clawing at the walls. The windows have since been opened more than they used to be but are still VERY SMALL. The amount of slaves that suffocated in this room was staggering.

They children of the men and women that were sick would be killed because being sick was a sign of weakness. If the women or men of the children cried while they were being beaten they would also kill their children for the same reason.
